StoryOrigin is out of beta and no longer 100% free. There is still a free tier, and subscriptions start at $100 per year.

There’s finally a formatting option that aims to compete with Vellum but is available for PC, Linux, Mac, & Chromebook (rather than just Mac)! Check out https://atticus.pub. Here’s a more detailed blog post I wrote about it, which includes info on how to convert an Atticus ePub into mobi format.

Booksprout has updated their system. You can no longer access reviewer email addresses. (Please imagine me sobbing at this news). However, with a paid subscription, you can message individual readers within the Booksprout website. There’s also no longer a free option on Booksprout.
7/29/22:
Amazon no longer allows mobi files to be sent to most Kindles and Kindle apps They now require ePub instead. However, some older Kindles and apps still use mobi. I suggest you provide both to early readers.
